I have the cutest niece ever.

The above layout is from our trip to visit my brother and his family. Isn't my niece just the cutest thing ever? They have a really nice little beach just minutes away from their home. Of course because they live in Illinois, it is not exactly the ocean but that didn't stop the kids from having fun.

You may remember how excited I was to be chosen for Sirscapalot's creative team. I have had a lot of fun working with his kits but I haven't shared them yet because there was a delay in the store opening. I didn't want you to be lusting for a kit you couldn't buy yet. Yikes- My boys are growing up! My oldest baby started high school today. He reports that although he doesn't think he'll like it, he doesn't hate it. That is a big improvement over middle school. My youngest baby had kindergarten conferences today. I am thinking I should have planned out their ages better - this is more emotional distress than I can take in one day. To top it off, we have a pasture behind our house with 4 cows who have calves each spring. Yesterday the farmer took away the calves. This caused the momma cows to cry all night. As I was awoken by the saddest MOOs that you can imagine, I thought yes ladies I understand how hard it is to have your babies grow up and not need you.

Mini-golf

Here is my layout for the current template challenge going on at MLAS - the site with a lot of heart. This came together so quickly due to the fabulous template by Kate Designs. Everything else I used was from Mama Mia's Forever I am Changed kit. You can get the template free and join the challenge here. Check out the rest of Kate's great templates at the store.

This was from a little mini-trip the boys and I had taken last month to test out Cody's car riding abilities. Because he didn't do to badly we were able to start planning the trip to my brothers. I really enjoyed this day spending time with my boys. Cody had a melt down while we were playing and a golf club did go flying but I was proud of him when he was able to move on and play some more after he and I sat and talked about choices for a little bit.

We're back from visiting my brother and his family. The boys and Stormy did well. Yep, after my whining in my last entry about leaving her at home we decided to take her with. I was happily surprised by how well both Cody and Stormy did for the car ride. AS soon as I get all our laundry done and the house back in order, I will post some pictures and hopefully some vacation layouts will come soon.

Road Trip

Ok, wish me luck. We are off to visit my brother and his family. It is about a 4 hour drive and I am pretty sure it will feel much longer for Cody. I got the videos already and have resigned myself to listening to Spongebob over and over again. I struggle not to take my canine baby, Stormy. Mike isn't brave enough to make the trip with us, so he will be here with her. However, she gets very nervous when the whole crew isn't here. If I didn't think I would already have my hands full with Cody, I would definitely take her. I just have this horrible vision of them both running in different directions.

I am going to miss the Speed Scrap Challenge at MLAS while I am gone. Make sure you check out their challenges. They have some great prizes.

Eye on Design

What a day I have had. Cody had to get blood drawn for lab work. This got him "off" for the day and around noon I got a call from daycare because they couldn't control him. A quick yell to my boss and I was off to get him. Well by the time I got him home he was starting to calm down but our rule is if he makes bad choices at daycare, he doesn't get to make choices at home. This means staying in his room except for meals and a snack. All of this ended giving me some down time.

I decided to re-look at a CT call I had seen for Veronica Spriggs. This lady is so crazy talented. You have to check out her stuff - Eye on Design. Any way, pretty much on a whim I decided to apply for her CT. I was so surprised to get a response back from her offering me a spot. Of course I am jumping at the chance and can't wait to get started.
